Grammy artist Billy Bensing moved to the Grass Valley area in the early 1980’s. He is a world traveler and top musician, singer, and songwriter. His music has been heard and appreciated in many different parts of the world including France, Australia, Bali, and in numerous parts of the U.S. Bensing’s partnership with the acclaimed award-winning flutist Mary Youngblood, earned him a contributory Grammy award for the song “On Our Journey” which he wrote.
Kellie Garmire is a singer and songwriter from the town of Auburn. From that first lesson Billy and Kellie began a creative partnership that is well received wherever they perform. Their sound is rooted in the Folk-Rock beat of the 1970’s. Their influences are James Taylor, Neil Young, Cat Stevens, Carly Simon, and Stevie Nicks.
They are currently adding a new genre to their act: The sweet sounds of “The Music of Your Life,” from the 1940’s and 50’s. The combined harmonies and instrumentation that Billy and Kellie bring to these classic post-war standards is like the combination of red wine and dark chocolate. Delicious sounds by which to reminisce a golden era.
